we went to banana cafe in capitol hill this weekend. great latin food, nice atmosphere, but weak service and avoid the upstairs bar - the downstair's bartender is better. it's nice to see capitol hill so revitalized.

-dan brown's first book "deception point" is a fun summer read
-"rule of four" by two losers is a piece of crap that is being marketed as the new da vinci code -AVOID

during my visit to villa de leyva, colombia, i encountered the festival of the virgin mary so the village was filled with beautiful and incredible sights: campesinos, fireworks all day and night, monks, and the virgin herself made a few appearances - usually atop a dumptruck with a mariachi band in tow.
i'm now obsessed with the creepy yet gorgeous catholic iconic art - i think my next show will be heavily influenced by this trip. i'll post pictures as the artwork develops.
