i walked disco down by the smithsonian mall today and we checked out the construction of the new american indian museum. daniel cardinal, the architect (at least was> the architect before getting fired for missing deadlines...regardless he did the most important job, the concept), has created a beautiful, organic shape to contrast with the formal architecture of the mall. think gehry-meets-falling water. even with the lack of fenestration (probably to protect the museum's artifacts), the undulating waves still make the shell an intriguing form.
