what a disappointment...the "think" design for the wtc site was passed over for studio daniel libeskind's design.

congrats to Andrew Jackness and Murell Horton for their amazing set design and costume design, respectively, in the shakespeare theatre's production of the silent woman. the green vinyl sets and the vibrant costumes are abstract and over the top, creating a fantastic contrast for a 400 year old play.

if you get a chance to see far from heaven and you're a fan of 50's melodramas, furniture, or lifestyle (at least the lifestyle portrayed in the movies), you'll love it. the movie balances the heavy themes, which would never have been allowed back in 1957 on film, with a witty, almost tongue in cheek revival of what is now seen as either campy or classic - incredible modernist furnishings, over the top autumn colors, perfect costumes, a hysterical font for the title, oh, and lots of teal. everywhere. go see it.
